Liberty Island and Statue of Liberty
Liberty Island and the Statue of Liberty are one of New York’s iconic attractions, located in New York City Harbor. You can take a ferry from White Harbor Pier on the southern tip of Manhattan or Liberty State Park Pier in New Jersey. Tickets, including ferry fare, range from $18.50 to $21.50 for adults, depending on the tour option you choose. Ferries depart every day, but visit times for the Statue of Liberty may vary. When I came to Liberty Island and the Statue of Liberty, I was fascinated by this iconic sculpture and the history behind it. Liberty Island is located in New York City Harbor and can be reached by ferry from Manhattan or New Jersey. I chose to depart from White Harbor Pier on the southern tip of Manhattan, one of the main terminals for ferries.
Tickets for the ferry include round trip and range from $18.50 to $21.50 for adults depending on the tour option chosen. I chose the standard tour option, which included a trip to Liberty Island and the Statue of Liberty, as well as free time on the island. The ferry departs every day and I chose a morning departure so that I could enjoy the magnificence of the sculpture in the daylight.
After landing on Liberty Island, I was first struck by the majesty of the Statue of Liberty. This 93-meter-tall sculpture symbolizes the spirit of freedom and democracy and is a gift from the French people to the United States. I walked along the promenade of Liberty Island, admiring the sculpture from different angles and feeling its majesty and solemnity.
On Liberty Island, I also visited some exhibitions and monuments and learned about the history and significance of the construction of the Statue of Liberty. I spent a few hours on the island taking in the beauty of this iconic sculpture. As the sun began to set, I boarded the ferry back to Manhattan with a deep respect for freedom and democracy and an endless admiration for the Statue of Liberty.
Brooklyn Bridge
The Brooklyn Bridge is a historic bridge spanning the East River, connecting Manhattan and Brooklyn. You can choose to walk or bike across the bridge, or take the subway to the Brooklyn or Manhattan side of the bridge. The bridge is free and can be visited throughout the day, but it is recommended to go during the day or at dusk to enjoy the most beautiful scenery.
When I stepped onto the Brooklyn Bridge, I seemed to be transported into a long historical legend. This bridge across the East River connects Manhattan and Brooklyn and is one of New York City’s landmarks. I chose to walk across this bridge to experience its magnificence and history first hand.
The Brooklyn Bridge is conveniently located between Manhattan and Brooklyn, spanning the East River. I chose to start my exploration on the Manhattan side of the bridge. At the end of the bridge, I was able to enjoy the stunning skyline of Manhattan and the charming view of the East River, feeling the vitality and charm of the city.
The Brooklyn Bridge is a historic bridge built in the late 19th century to designs by John Roebling and Washington Roebling. I walked slowly along the bridge, feeling the tremors under my feet and the freshness of the wind. The scenery on the bridge has a unique flavor. The passing cars, bicycles and pedestrians are intertwined to form a unique urban picture.
Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge is not time-consuming, taking about 30 minutes to an hour, depending on your walking speed and how long you stay on the bridge. While admiring the scenery on the bridge, I imagined the scene of building this bridge in the past, and my heart was filled with respect for the construction engineers and workers.
While crossing the Brooklyn Bridge, I experienced a unique feeling and a sense of the city’s history and culture. The Brooklyn Bridge is not only a transportation thoroughfare, but also one of the symbols of New York City. I feel extremely lucky to be able to experience such a special place first-hand.
